Players are welcome to join our Recreational program beginning as U5 players. Teams are co-ed through U8 at which point there are boys and girls divisions. Recreational teams play through the U14 level. At the U8 through U10 level, players with an interest in a higher level of competition and training will have the opportunity to join the Academy program. At the U11 level, skilled players interested in higher level competition and training have the opportunity to try out for Select soccer which offers competitive play along with greater travel and tournament play. The club also offers various camps and clinics during the regular season and the off-season as well.
Recreational Soccer
The Recreational soccer program is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high level competition. Players are placed randomly onto teams regardless of skill level. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a life long love of the game. Coaches are parent volunteers.
Academy Soccer
The Academy program is an extension of the Recreational program at the U8 through U10 level. It is designed to challenge the players who how have demonstrated higher skill and have the desire to improve their soccer game. Evaluations are done to determine the skill set of the players. PS United will create multiple teams based upon number of players and allocated players to teams with other players of similar skill levels. Teams are coached by parent volunteers in conjunction with Academy trainers.
Select Soccer
Select soccer is more competitive; teams travel further distance and have tournament play. Teams are formed based on skill set by having tryouts and players are cut based on skill level. At many levels, multiple teams are formed and players will be placed with like-skilled players. Playing time is NOT guaranteed. Select soccer generally has paid experienced coaches who have played the game and are licensed for competitive soccer.
